Double Edge Theatre’s youth education programs are rooted in its award winning performance methodology and bring dynamic workshops to schools and community organizations at home and on tour.

Participants of workshops with schools and youth groups:

● create stories and characters to build imaginative worlds together
● learn teamwork through ensemble training and co-creating without a script
● design and build props, sets, puppets, and costumes
● integrate student-led research from literature, history, and multiple art forms
● work with stilts, aerial fabrics, giant seesaws and spools
● develop movement, dance, instrumental and vocal work
● create site-specific scenes in and out of doors in schools, parks, auditoriums and throughout the grounds of the Double Edge Farm

Participants of Summer Spectacle youth programming:

● help local designers build sets and giant puppets
● tend to the vegetable garden, fruit trees, and grounds at the Farm
● attend special open rehearsals and Double Edge performances at a group discount
● meet the multidisciplinary artists of the Ensemble and participate in a post performance Q&A
