Cariel Klein (They/Them, She/Her) has an urge to find a creative community that would work towards a just world and is an antagonist in an imperialist world and an accomplice in an anti-racist, multi-generational, artistic movement. Klein has been a part of Double Edge since before she can remember. After performing as a child in four Summer Spectacles, they left to pursue a circus career and trained at several elite circus schools, while at the same time receiving a degree in the Political Performance of the Self at the Gallatin School of NYU. After spending time in both the circus and tech industry, Klein returned to Double Edge, first assuming the role of Associate Producer in 2017 and then becoming Co-Producer in 2021. She finds beauty in the mixture of athleticism, art and creativity, and explores aerial choreography and performance, as well as in her role leading residencies. Klein is most passionate as a producer and co-leader of Art Justice residency and practice throughout Double Edge, as well as representing rural multi-generational work on the national and international scene.
