September 15 - October 15
A collaborative immersion around the creation process and performance of Leonora’s World, the fall indoor/outdoor spectacle inspired by the paintings, sculptures, and writing of twentieth century mystic, surrealist and feminist Leonora Carrington. This moonlight performance is created by Stacy Klein and the rest of the DE Ensemble, along with collaborators from Open Flame theatre and other international artists. The project will involve physical and vocal training, scene discovery based on Carrington’s visual scapes and writing, character creation, design and building of the immersive performance, and work with collaborators. Food (for three weeks) and housing provided included in fee. Following the performance you are invited to a meeting of the Training and Place Based Theatre Consortium.
The program is $1250 including housing and food for the second half of program.
Scholarships are available for all training programs through the Timothy O'Brien Fund, the Uriona-Klein International and Latino Training Fund, the Vidya Ramanan and Visalakshi Naranan Fund, and the Supporting Black Lives Fund. More Info >>
