From DET Co-Artistic Director Travis Coe
We are once again delighted to present the work of our partner organization, Jupiter Performance Studio. Starting in 2017, we have been honored to be in deep collaboration with Ebony Noelle Golden — initially through her work with Betty’s Daughter Arts Collaborative and continuing with the founding of Jupiter Performance Studio in 2020. Her visionary practice — deeply rooted in Black diasporic performance traditions — offers vital nourishment to the land at Double Edge.
Original Commission
Originally Commissioned by the Apollo Theater and produced in partnership with National Black Theatre. Support to develop, present and tour this work has been generously provided by Double Edge Theatre, Betty’s Daughter Arts Collaborative, Jupiter Performance Studio, Mississippi Center for Cultural Production, Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Mercury Store and a creation and touring grant from New England Foundation for the Arts/National Theater Project.
